Carlos Alcaraz celebrated his victory at the US Open Tennis Championship at a Peruvian restaurant in New York, accompanied by a group of about thirty people, according to the EFE news agency.

Shortly after facing the press with the still hot trophy, Alcaraz and his team traveled on Sunday to Mission Ceviche, one of the best Peruvian restaurants in New York, explained José Luis Chávez, who is also the chef of this restaurant in the Upper East Side neighborhood of Manhattan.

Alcaraz, who has already been to this restaurant at least three times before, had promised that if he won the tournament, he would celebrate there, as announced to Chávez.

And so it was: he ordered some "acevichados rolls," a typical Peruvian-Japanese fusion creation (tartar with catch of the day, acevichada sauce, and tempura prawns) which, according to Chávez, is "his favorite dish," and then a typically Creole dish, the seco norteño, consisting of slow-cooked veal ribs (kid goat in its original version) marinated in a green sauce made with cilantro.

The restaurant reserved a private area for Alcaraz and his team to celebrate to their heart's content. "There was a great party," said Chávez. "It was an incredible moment."

"It was also a celebration for us, a privilege: being able to go to any restaurant in this city, which is the capital of the world, they came to our restaurant because they love Peruvian food and our work. It was a blessing," concluded EFE.
