Touched the glory at Wimbledon, Russian nationalized in Kazakhstan, Elena Rybakina won her first Grand Slam title, defeating Tunisian Ons Jabeur 3-6, 6-2 and 6-2 in the women's final held at the All England Club.
With this victory, the 23rd ranked player at only 23 years old, becomes the first Kazakh to achieve such a relevant worldwide title.
"I was super nervous before and during the match, I am very happy that it is over. I had never felt anything like it," Rybakina commented about the win.
"To be honest, I did not expect to reach the second week of a Grand Slam in Wimbledon. So winning the tournament is truly incredible. I have no words to express how happy I am," she added, very excited.
