was involved, as he constantly criticized the former player. The current radio host revealed that the historical top scorer wanted to beat him up because his words affected his partner.
“If someone silenced me, it was the 'number nines'. I used to say, 'Checho, what a disaster'. His wife was pregnant and she had a very bad Sunday, her blood pressure rose and she almost lost the baby. Checho wanted to kill me," he mentioned on 'A presión'.

After this incident, the sports journalist also mentioned that he and the former football player used to go to the same place to play tennis. On one occasion, Núñez was warned that Checho had arrived, so he had to hold onto his racket to protect himself from a possible fight with the former forward.
"We used to go to the same place to train and one day 'Zurdo' Aliaga (fitness trainer) came up to me. He said, 'You keep your racket with you all the time, don't let go of it, because Checho wants to kill you,'" he expressed.
According to Gonzalo Núñez, the problem he had with the former football player did not escalate, and after this incident, the popular phrase he dedicated to the ex-goalkeeper was born.
"In the end, I got rid of the 'disaster' part and it became 'Cheeeeecho,'" he explained.
