This Thursday, the draw for the 2022 Davis Cup Group I and II series was held in London, and Peru will have Chile as its next opponent in the competition, one of the most outstanding teams in the South American continent.

After defeating Bolivia in Lima in early March with a great performance from Juan Pablo Varillas, the Peruvian team managed to stay in Group I of the Davis Cup, and in September they will once again be playing at home to face Chile, who easily beat Slovenia in the same stage.

The series between Peru and Chile will take place from September 16th of this year, and the team that manages to prevail will secure a spot in the 2023 Davis Cup Finals.

Peru's captain is Américo 'Tupi' Venero, and their last team consisted of Juan Pablo Varillas (#119 ATP), Conner Huertas del Pino (638), Arklon Huertas del Pino, Gonzalo Bueno (1480), and Sergio Galdos (#156 doubles).
