Tennis: Andy Murray advances to the third round of the US Open
British tennis player Andy Murray, the second favorite, continues his unstoppable run in the US Open after defeating Spanish player Marcel Granollers in three sets, 6-4, 6-1, and 6-4.
Murray did not waste his turn at the Arthur Ashe Stadium and managed to secure a spot in the next phase of the event despite being 5-3 down in the first set. After two hours and 22 minutes of play, he won over the fans who attended the morning session of the tournament.
The breaks of service of his opponent helped the Scottish player to come out on top in the second and third sets of the match, scoring five breaks and the same number of aces during his performance.
With this result, Andy Murray will continue his quest for his second Grand Slam of the season, after winning Wimbledon. He will face the winner of the match between French player Gilles Simon, seeded thirtieth, and Italian player Paolo Lorenzi in the third round.
