Bryson DeChambeau has once again won over fans by signing autographs for every single one of them after the second round of the US Open.

The 30-year-old LIV Golf star, who is fondly known as 'The Scientist', ended Saturday's (June 15) session as the tournament leader, inching closer to his second US Open title following his victory at Winged Foot in 2020, reports the Express.

After an exciting round in the 124th edition of the competition, DeChambeau continued to charm the audience in North Carolina. Once seen as a somewhat brash character, the American golfer invited fans to meet him on the other side of the range so he could sign autographs before leaving.

Despite having spent a long afternoon ensuring he was in the best possible position for victory on Sunday (June 16), the California native made time for his many supporters, including young golf fans, who were waiting for him after his round. He signed various items and posed for selfies.

Fans took to social media to share footage of the golf ace taking time out to meet his fans. Social media users showered him with praise, with one X user writing: " Anyone who doesn't like Bryson just hates themselves! Let golf evolve and be something the masses enjoy!!! while another added: "Not much of a golf guy, but cool to see Bryson taking care of the fans. Good on him".

DeChambeau has opened up about his unique approach to the game, including a peculiar method involving Epsom salt that he believes gives him an edge on the course.

After seizing the top spot at the 2024 US Open, DeChambeau shared his unusual technique: "Yeah, I put my golf balls in Epsom salt. I'm lucky enough that Connor, my manager, does that now. I don't have to do it. But essentially we float golf balls in a solution to make sure that the golf ball is not out of balance."

He explained the rationale behind this practice, saying: "There was a big thing back in the day where golf balls are out of balance, and it's just because of the manufacturing process. There's always going to be an error, especially when it's a sphere and there's dimples on the edges. You can't perfectly get it in the center."

DeChambeau, often referred to as 'The Scientist' due to his analytical take on golf, also reflected on his performance, noting the challenges he faced: "It was one of the most difficult putts I have had, so for me, it is just looking at it, being focused, trying to stay focused for 10 minutes. You're trying to play conservative golf that gives you the opportunity to hit it close in some scenarios."

His comments come after a disappointing round for rival Ludvig Aberg, who ended up with a triple bogey, leaving him tied for fifth place as they head into the tournament's final stretch.
