The Peruvian athlete Cristhian Pacheco, the brand-new two-time Pan American champion at the Santiago 2023 Olympic Games, returned to Lima from France and was received with great fanfare by the president of the Peruvian Sports Institute (IPD), Guido Flores Marchan.
The member of the Athlete Support Program (PAD) of the IPD was in Paris for a few days, invited by the Organizing Committee of the Olympic Games to be held next year. More than 130 athletes from different parts of the world and different sports disciplines participated in the event.

The two-time Pan American champion, who was accompanied by his brother and coach, Raúl Pacheco, thanked the gesture of the president of IPD for receiving him at the Jorge Chávez airport and announced that he will continue with his preparation to achieve more victories for the country.
Meanwhile, Flores Marchan committed to initiating coordination efforts to improve the subsidy program for athletes, reactivate the Marathoners Program, and work on improving High Performance Centers (HPCs) in the country.
Likewise, he will begin efforts to launch the Paris 2024 Program, which is an additional financial subsidy that qualified athletes for the Olympic Games will receive to cover their training bases, competitions, accommodations, and other demands of their preparation.
