Tennis player Santiago González thanks Mexico for their support

Mexican tennis player Santiago González, second place in the doubles final of the Roland Garros tournament that took place today, thanked Mexico for their "extraordinary" support during his participation in this year's Roland Garros tennis tournament.

"Thanks to everyone who watched the game today, here, to the Mexicans, to my family, thank you very much and long live Mexico," said the tennis player when receiving a silver tray as second place in the doubles category of the tournament.

González lost with his playing partner, Donald Young, a "close" doubles final this afternoon by two sets to one against the pair of American Ryan Harrison and New Zealander Michael Venus who won by 7-6, 6-7 and 6-3.

The Mexican tennis player, 71st in the world in the specialty before the start of Roland Garros, thanked his partner for the "extraordinary two weeks" of the tournament in the French capital where they reached the final as underdogs.

In the trophy presentation, the player from Córdoba, in the Mexican state of Veracruz, who wore a green shirt, also congratulated the winners of the doubles tournament and wished them luck.

"It was a pleasure playing with you. I hope to have another opportunity to play with you. Truly, this is a special moment for me," commented the doubles partner of the Mexican, Donald Young, in the center of the Philippe-Chatrier court, the main one of the French Internationals, where the final was held.
