Scandal continues

After the participation of the Peruvian national team in the 2018 World Cup in Russia, several political factors involving the president of the Peruvian Football Federation (FPF) were uncovered. As a result, various executives and leaders from different institutions requested the immediate disclosure of the FPF guest list to avoid any kind of speculation.

Therefore, the president of the Organizing Committee of Competitions, Felipe Cantuarias, has asked Edwin Oviedo (president) and Juan Matute (general secretary) to clarify the pending issue. "Both (Oviedo and Matute) are preparing a complete report of all the income, expenses, payments, and incitements that have been made during the World Cup. In fact, several committees of the Federation have requested an external audit to ensure total tranquility within the professional football ecosystem," Cantuarias declared for RPP News.

The FPF is allegedly planning a press conference as soon as possible, which will take place on Friday, July 20 at the Videna facilities. "I understand that this Friday all media outlets will be invited to a press conference, where they will be provided with all the necessary information to avoid any kind of doubts or suspicions," Cantuarias specified.
