There is growing expectation regarding the performance of the Peruvian national team at the 2018 World Cup, after the captain of the national team, Paolo Guerrero, was cleared to play in the tournament.

Guillermo La Rosa, the last striker to score a goal for Peru at a World Cup, appeared on Buenos Días Perú to comment on the national team and the performance of the Peruvian striker.
La Rosa pointed out that Paolo Guerrero has had a transcendental role in Peru's qualification for the World Cup. Besides being a natural leader, he has scored very important goals. La Rosa also confessed that he is his idol and cried when Guerrero scored against Colombia.
"Paolo is the radiating leader who has scored very important goals. He has also moved the country with the situation he went through. He is even my idol" (...). "I cried when he scored against Colombia, I didn't want to say it, but I'm saying it publicly now," said the former World Cup player.
On the other hand, La Rosa shared some of his experiences when he was part of the Peruvian national team and his participation in the World Cup.
