Paolo Guerrero appeals to Swiss Federal Court to play in the World Cup

Paolo Guerrero presented an appeal to the Swiss Federal Court on Friday to overturn a doping ban that left him out of the 2018 World Cup. The lawyer of the Peruvian National Team forward, Juan de Dios Crespo, spoke after submitting the document.

"We have submitted the documentation to the Swiss Federal Court. The purpose of this action is for Paolo Guerrero to be able to play in the World Cup with his national team," he said in an interview with 'El Bocón'.

"The definitive response will be known no later than June 4th, the date on which the final list for Russia must be submitted. We are confident that it will be favorable and Paolo Guerrero will be able to participate in the World Cup," he added.

In the appeal submitted to the Swiss Federal Court, a sworn statement from the president of the Peruvian Football Federation, Edwin Oviedo, was included.

"I hope that Paolo Guerrero will be able to join the team and join the preparation for this highly anticipated World Cup," said Oviedo, who also highlighted the values and importance of the striker in the Peruvian National Team.
