Jose Carvallo is one of the 4 goalkeepers training at Videna with the Peruvian National Team. One of them will be the starting goalkeeper against Argentina in the penultimate match of the Russia 2018 Qualifiers. However, the goalkeeper from UTC was asked about the harsh criticism from Argentine journalist Horacio Pagani against his colleague Pedro Gallese.
Jose Carvallo tried not to get involved in the controversy of what the Argentine journalist said, so he sought to downplay the situation and highlight Pedro Gallese's level in his comeback after his injury.
"I'm not going to get into controversies with a journalist who said that (Pedro) Gallese is an average goalkeeper, we know Pedro's quality and that he is in a competitive league like the Mexican one. That person will have his opinion but I don't share it," said Jose Carvallo to the sports press at Videna.
Furthermore, Jose Carvallo emphasized that he and his teammates from the Peruvian National Team are only focused on the football aspect. "This is an important stage and we are focused on our own, on the sport. I don't pay much attention to the journalistic aspect, since they surely do their job. I don't pay much attention to those things," said the goalkeeper from UTC in Cajamarca.
Finally, Jose Carvallo admitted that he doesn't see much difference between playing at River Plate's Monumental Stadium or at Boca Juniors' La Bombonera, because what matters to him is getting a good result with the Peruvian National Team against Argentina wherever it is played.
"I don't feel any difference between River's stadium and Boca's. Both are very good for playing football. You always have to give importance to the fields. La Bombonera is in good condition. It will be possible to play good football and that's good for both," emphasized Jose Carvallo about the Peru vs Argentina match to be played on October 5th, for the penultimate match of the Russia 2018 Qualifiers.
