LOS ANGELES -- The Miami Dolphins placed starting right tackle Austin Jackson on injured reserve Monday with a knee injury that forced him to miss three practices this week.

Jackson will miss at least the next four games, but coach Mike McDaniel on Saturday said he didn't expect the injury to be season-ending. It's unclear who will take Jackson's place in the starting lineup, but either veteran Kendall Lamm or rookie Patrick Paul is expected to fill the role.

Jackson missed 15 games in 2022 to various injuries but was durable in 2023, playing 17 of the team's 18 games. He was rewarded with a three-year, $36 million contract extension in December 2023.

Jackson had played in all eight of Miami's games this season.

Wide receiver River Cracraft, who was placed on injured reserve after injuring his shoulder in the team's first preseason game in August, was activated Monday. Cracraft might be called upon right away, as Tyreek Hill, the Dolphins' leading receiver, is questionable to play in Monday night's game against the Los Angeles Rams with a wrist injury.

Miami also signed defensive tackle Neil Farrell to the active roster and elevated long-snapper Tucker Addington and offensive tackle Jackson Carman to the active roster for Monday night's game.
