Prior to his flight to the United States to join his club, Atlanta United, Luis Abram said. "We will keep working, keep insisting to overcome this situation. The good thing is that football gives you second chances and we have to lift this situation no matter what," he said.
Later, he added. "We have to correct the details that are costing us the matches. We thank the fans for their unconditional support and we hope they continue like this despite the results," he said.
The defender who plays in the MLS started in the defeat against Chile and Argentina in the double round of the Qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup in Mexico, Canada, and the United States.
The Peruvian national team accumulated its third consecutive defeat in the Qualifiers in four matches. It only obtained one point against Paraguay at the beginning of the tournament.
