The Peruvian national team
The Peruvian national team wanted to make an impact in the Qualifiers against Argentina in Lima. For the fourth day of the tournament, the team led by Juan Reynoso intended to make home advantage count. However, Lionel Messi appeared with a brace to put the Albiceleste team ahead 2-0 against the bicolor team.
In a evenly-matched game, with Peru showing organization, an Argentine counterattack ended with a superb strike by Messi, who took advantage of a cross and appeared unmarked in the middle of the field.
The shot from the former Barcelona player was directed towards a corner of the Peruvian goalkeeper Pedro Gallese, so the goalkeeper had no chance of preventing the goal at 32 minutes.
At 42 minutes, with Peru struggling to react, another quick transition in attack caused problems for the Peruvian defense. The Inter Miami player appeared again in the center of the area and struck the ball hard and down the middle, leaving Gallese without a chance.
Peru will face Bolivia in the next match. This match, to be played on November 16th in La Paz, will also capture the attention of our entire country, as they will play against one of the weakest teams in the tournament. National fans hope to achieve a good result.
