Shortly before Juan Reynoso announces his official list of call-ups for the Peruvian national team, Wilder Cartagena received multiple compliments from his coach at Orlando City.

Juan Reynoso will announce his official list of called-up players for the Peruvian national team on Monday, October 9th, for the matches against Chile and Argentina in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers. Previously, he had only announced a preliminary list with players exclusively from the Liga 1. In this regard, Wilder Cartagena received a lot of praise from Oscar Pareja, his coach at Orlando City.

In order for the 'Cabezón' to consider him, the midfielder who plays in the Major League Soccer is having a great season, and that was what prompted his coach to recognize him, just before Juan Reynoso has to decide which team to field in Santiago against Chile and at the Estadio Nacional in Lima against Argentina.

"Wilder has had an incredible rise, this year he has been one of our best players. I think the balance he has brought us has been crucial for the campaign. I'm glad that he is being recognized because he has had a very good season," says Pareja in a video posted by journalist Alonso El Inca on his official Twitter account.

It is worth noting that Wilder Cartagena is an undisputed starter at Orlando City and is having a great season in the team that is currently second in the Eastern Conference of the MLS with 54 points and is qualifying for the final series of the competition. Let's remember that Pedro Gallese is also in the Florida club.
