The Peruvian Institute of Sport (IPD) mourns the sad death of the amateur wrestler, Janette Mallqui Peche.
The athlete is the sister of Thalía Mallqui and they shared training with the Peruvian selection of this sports discipline, she even participated in the Lima 2019 Pan American Games.
She was the national champion in the Under 23 category (-55kg) and eighth place in the Lima 2019 Pan American Games, among her most recent results. Our deepest condolences to her family.
Janet Mallqui was found dead inside a room on the third floor of a hostel on block 14 of Insurgentes Avenue, in Callao, on the early morning of last Friday, during the mandatory social immobilization due to the state of emergency.
