Although there are still two months left for 2019 to end, Diego Elías will hardly forget this year. And that he went from being one step away from the top 10 - in January - to being among the top seven in the world ranking of the PSA (Professional Squash Association).
After the last ranking update, Diego Elias moved up one more place (he was in eighth) and achieved his best position as a professional. Thus, with 9018 points, he displaced the Egyptian Mohamed Aboulghar.
With his new position, our gold medalist in the 2019 Pan American Games, is getting ready for the US Open, a tournament that will take place from this Saturday at the Daskalakis Athletic Center of Drexel University in Philadelphia.
Diego Elias will make his tournament debut this Sunday, when he faces the winner of the match between the English players George Parker and Tom Richards.
Diego Elías is ranked 7th in the PSA ranking. (Capture: PSA)
