One excellent news would be about to receive the medalists of the Pan American Games and Parapan American Games of Lima 2019, and the National School Sports Games after the Minister of Education, Flor Pablo, confirms that her portfolio is in search of scholarships for higher studies for athletes.
"In principle, we are interested in professions related to sports because we need to strengthen our sports system, but the possibility of medalists accessing the careers they also consider is not closed," said the Minister in an interview with Agencia Andina.
Likewise, Flor Pablo affirmed that her sector is "working" in this regard and that news on the subject will be announced "soon". "We greatly value the achievement of winning a medal and we believe that we must continue opening doors to these athletes so that they can access higher education," she added.
The minister was present at the presentation of the final stage of the XXVII National School Sports Games (JDEN) 2019, which will take place in various venues in Lima with the participation of 3,000 athletes and free admission for the public.
It is worth mentioning that the Peruvian delegation won 54 medals in Lima 2019: 39 in the Pan American Games (11 gold, 7 silver, and 21 bronze) and 15 in the Parapan American Games (5 gold, 3 silver, and 7 bronze).
