Universitario de Deportes defeats Deportivo Municipal

Universitario de Deportes defeated Deportivo Municipal 3-2 at Mansiche Stadium in Trujillo and clinched the third place in the Descentralizado 2016. The goals for Universitario were scored by Hernán Rengifo and Alexi Gómez, while Damían Ísmodes and Maximiliano Velasco scored for Deportivo Municipal.

In a match that was active from start to finish, Hernán Rengifo opened the scoring at 34 minutes after a great play from Andy Polo. In the second half, Alexi Gómez increased the lead, scoring a penalty goal at 54 minutes.

However, Deportivo Municipal managed to reduce the deficit in the 64th minute thanks to Damian Ísmodes, and later Maximiliano Velasco added excitement to the match with a goal at 78 minutes.

The match seemed to be settled until 'Charapa' Rengifo arrived to secure the victory for Universitario and score his 15th goal of the season. This way, Universitario de Deportes finishes in third place in the Descentralizado 2016, relegating Deportivo Municipal to fourth place.
