In his presentation as the coach of the Bolivian national team, Carlos Zago mentioned the match he will have against Peru in his debut as the new 'altiplano' coach.

The Bolivia national team debuts its new coach after the departure of Gustavo Costas, and Carlos Zago is already in charge of the highland team, where he hopes to make history and achieve the long-awaited qualification for the 2026 World Cup.

In his presentation, the Brazilian coach couldn't stay out of the upcoming match against Peru, which will take place on Thursday, November 16, at the Hernando Siles stadium in the altitude of La Paz.

When asked about his closest objectives with the Bolivian national team, Carlos Zago stated that he believes it is possible to earn key points that will allow them to climb in the South American standings. However, he couldn't avoid referring to Peru, their closest opponent.

"It's possible (to come back), we have only played four matches. We haven't earned points, but the qualifiers started 2 or 3 months ago. I believe we can fight. The most important thing now is to think about Peru, play a great match, and earn the three points we need," he said in a press conference.
