The coach of the Peruvian National Team presented on October 30th the list of local players for the matches against Bolivia and Venezuela
The Peruvian National Team is getting ready to get back on track for the 2026 Qualifiers. The 'Bicolor' will face Bolivia in La Paz and Venezuela in Lima in the upcoming month of November, which will be the last double matchday of 2023.
Juan Reynoso, the national team coach, offered statements at a press conference, in addition to announcing the list of local players for these two matches, with the detail of not including players from Alianza Lima and Universitario de Deportes, who will be facing the national title decider in the coming days.
"It was an error in the way it was done. One of the tasks when I arrived to the national team is to give back what one could build in football and see a better football in the league, youth. That's what we're betting on. If I assume an error because I believe it was misunderstood in general, what I have to assume is that it wasn't the right moment and maybe the context wasn't clarified", he stated regarding his comments after the match against Argentina about players from Liga1.
"Today what we aim for is to unify the League where all teams day by day, minute by minute, show us everything they have done. We as a national team will review the data. We will provide feedback with each club to see what needs to be improved, but through objective situations. Not that 'I don't see your team running'", Reynoso added.
In addition, he responded to the question about his continuity and support from the FPF board. "That is a question for those who make decisions. What we are in football always miss this adrenaline. We know that no one is infallible and these situations can happen. We are winners and that should be reflected in the result. We are not satisfied, dissatisfaction is the word. If these situations didn't happen, we can't be in football", he declared.
