The Clausura Tournament 2023 will have a 'hot' finish. Five teams still have football and mathematical options to hold that coveted first place that gives them the possibility to play for the national title at the end of the season, one of them being FBC Melgar.
The team coached by Argentine Mariano Soso has reached the final part of the second tournament of the year with ups and downs. Even in this 18th round, they have rested, but the results so far allow them to continue fighting with one round left.
The 'Dominó' team is in second place in the standings with 35 points, one point below the leader Universitario, but one and two points ahead of Alianza Lima and Sporting Cristal respectively.
What does Melgar need to win the Clausura?
The 'Mistiano' team has the obligation to win against Binacional in the complicated city of Juliaca, but since they don't depend on themselves, they will have to hope that Universitario does not achieve a victory against Sport Huancayo, nor that Cristal and Alianza add three points in their respective matches. If they draw, the chances decrease by a large percentage. In that case, the other teams involved must not win to take the title.
FBC Melgar: next match for the Clausura Tournament
FBC Melgar vs. Binacional will have one of the most interesting duels in the last round of the Clausura in Juliaca, as the home team is also playing for the possibility of staying in the First Division. The time and date have not been announced yet.
