Martín Liberman was not unaware of the fall suffered by Peru at the hands of Chile in the so-called Pacific Classic. The Argentine journalist analyzed what this encounter was and even more so considering that the white and red will be the next rival of his country in Matchday 4 of the 2026 Qualifiers.

Liberman showed his total disappointment with the style of play that the Peruvian national team presents in each match and assures that Juan Reynoso was not the right person to take over the team that Ricardo Gareca left. Let's remember that with the 'Tiger', the Peruvian team was referenced as a team that played on equal terms with any opponent, very different from what we see now, a Peru that cannot even shoot at goal.
"I want this to be understood well because I have no problem with Reynoso. In fact, he is a coach with many qualities, with a great career; no one manages for so long and sustains without having conditions," the Argentine started commenting on his YouTube channel.
"I believe that (Reynoso) is not what Peruvian football needed at this moment. I hope he proves that he is and puts them in the next World Cup. I have a special affection for the people of Peru. It seems to me that he was not the person to look for after Gareca. I am convinced of what I am saying. I don't like his team, it has no idea of the game, they go out to defend in matches, they mortgage chances to attack, they depend a lot on big players," he added in relation to the Peruvian coach.
And then he concluded: "Their great figure is still Pedro Gallese and there is a great demonstration of what is happening to Peru at the moment. If the goalkeeper is the standout player in every game, this shows that there is a very big defensive deficiency on the part of Peru."
