The defeat of the Peruvian national team in Santiago against Chile did not leave any Peruvian satisfied, but neither did it reassure everyone in the neighboring country, where the work of Eduardo Berizzo in the Chilean national team is questioned regardless of the result of the Clásico del Pacífico for the third round of the Eliminatory matches.
One of the most critical of La Roja's game was Manuel de Tezanos-Pinto, a well-known Chilean sports journalist, who criticized the Argentine for the lack of clarity in the southern team, also giving his opinion on Juan Reynoso's tactics.
"Peru is curious," he began saying through his YouTube channel, Balong - MDTPn. "The Peruvian fans and journalists must feel really bad. I had never seen a team that doesn't try to win the game. I understand going for a draw, but there is always at least an intention to make a counterattack," he added in his analysis of the Bicolor's game.
Then he went further: "What Peru did in the first half, taking a short corner and passing the ball back to the goalkeeper, I had never seen that before. And when Peru was winning some meters, they would go back with the defenders and the goalkeeper. It was what Reynoso tried to do, it's not my problem or the problem of the Chileans to have such a timid coach. It's something I had never seen in my life."
"If Bereizzo is not very daring, what Reynoso did is remarkable. I had never seen a team with such a lack of desire to attack," De Tezanos-Pinto concluded.
