Eduardo Berizzo lost four players ahead of the second double-header of the Qualifiers against Peru and Venezuela
The next opponent of Peru in the Qualifiers is not doing well. The Chilean National Team confirmed four absences for the matches against the 'Bicolor' and Venezuela.
"The Medical Staff of the Chilean National Team released players Javier Altamirano, Nayel Mehssatou, Juan Delgado, and Benjamín Kuscevic from the October FIFA call-up", 'La Roja' detailed through its official channels.
Altamirano, midfielder of Estudiantes de La Plata, has not gained much continuity in 'Pincha'; however, he was preparing for his first official matches with the southern national team. In the case of Mehssataou, a Belgian-born full-back who plays for KV Kortrijk, he was part of the defense that lost 3-1 against Uruguay.
Similar case for Delgado, forward of Sheffield Wednesday, who also faced the clash against the 'Celeste' and Colombia at home. While Kuscevic, center-back of Curitiba and a regular summoned player for Chile, stayed on the bench in the past double-header of the Qualifiers.
They also welcomed the new call-ups. "The communications management informs that Eduardo Berizzo called up the following players: Brayan Cortes (Colo Colo), Fernando de Paul (Colo Colo), Alexander Aravena (Universidad Católica), and Matías Fernández (Independiente del Valle)". The first two are goalkeepers, while Aravena is the top scorer of UC in the local tournament with 11 goals. Fernández, on the other hand, is called up for the first time after his current form at IDV.
