PUEDES VER: What results does Universitario need to become Clausura champions?
Jorge Fossati, coach of the "crema" team, declared in a press conference at the end of the match. The experienced strategist was satisfied with the performance of his players in this key duel against the "Poetas".
"I am happy with the great job the team did, as I have always said, a team that plays well is the one that defends and attacks well," said the Universitario coach.
However, despite the tranquility of the victory, the coach did not miss the opportunity to refer to the performance of the referee, Jesús Cartagena, who finally determined that Chilean midfielder Rodrigo Ureña be expelled after a foul near the area.
"I swear I would like to have a referee to explain why, if the referee hadn't given anything and if the ball is outside the area, it is not a penalty. Why does VAR intervene? I didn't understand," Fossati pointed out.
"But well, that's what happened and a sanction that was initially nothing ended up being a red card due to VAR instruction. Then the team defended itself against a rival that has an important offensive power and we ended up getting these three golden points," he concluded.
