"The Clausura is heating up. And to think that I played for the first three and won the championship with all three. Well, whoever loses this matchday can say goodbye to the Clausura," Torres wrote on his Twitter account.

WHY DID RAINER TORRES RETIRE FROM FOOTBALL?
The former Universitario player retired in 2016 at the age of 36 because he was diagnosed with Guillain-Barré Syndrome, which prevented him from continuing on the field.

"In 2016, I officially retire from football, that year I won the championship with Melgar in 2015. It's a somewhat complex issue, people don't know why I retired, but I retired due to an illness, I had Guillain-Barré Syndrome, which affects the entire nervous system, nobody knew about what happened to me," he said during an interview on Luis Guadalupe's YouTube channel.
'Motorcito' also revealed that he tried to play in the following months despite the illness at Sport Boys (when they were in the second division). However, he couldn't and was forced to resign.
