Alarm bells are ringing! After the injury of Vinicius Jr. this afternoon in the match against Celta de Vigo for the second matchday of LaLiga, Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti shed more light on the matter a few weeks before the start of the qualifying rounds for the 2026 World Cup.
The Italian strategist in a press conference mentioned that the Brazilian player will not be called up for the match against Getafe in the next game, as he is suffering from a muscle injury.
"He felt some discomfort in the muscle. It's a shame because he started the game very well. He wanted to continue, he tried, but we preferred not to take risks," Ancelotti said initially.
Will he make it against Peru?
He also stated that during the qualifying matches, 'Vini' would undergo his recovery process, which would mean that he would not be considered for the clash against the Peruvian national team on Tuesday, September 12th. However, the CBF has not yet made a statement and is awaiting further tests to give its official version.
"We will see what he has in the next few hours. It's a shame, I don't think he will be against Getafe and he will take advantage of the break to recover," Ancelotti lamented at the end of his press conference.
