The complaint was made by George Villarroel, assistant of the VAR arbitration review area of the Liga 1, to the Police of the La Libertad Region. He stated that he was a victim of property damage after Sebastián Abreu punched and broke the VAR monitor after the match against ADT on matchday 10 of the Clausura tournament, played at the Mansiche stadium.
The complaint document also indicates that the value of the 24' LCD monitor owned by Mediapro Perú SAC is 2052 euros.
As you may remember, coach Sebastián Abreu of César Vallejo exploded when ADT scored the equalizing goal in the 98th minute, when the referee, Augusto Menéndez, only awarded six minutes of extra time.
The coach kicked a ball onto the field and, after being sent off, on his way to the locker rooms, he punched the VAR monitor that was in the path. All this happened on Monday, August 21st.
"I take responsibility for the inappropriate actions as a coach. It is the first step towards continuing to walk in football," expressed the Uruguayan coach on 'Fútbol como Cancha'.
"It was a quite strange match, and it led to everything that was seen. There is no physical aggression and I will take care of the expenses to replace the monitor. The statement issued by the club makes it clear the annoyance they feel," he pointed out.
