Google joins the celebrations of Peruvian Independence Day with an incredible doodle.

In the middle of the National Holidays 2023, Google surprised the Peruvians by adding a doodle dedicated to this date on its search engine. How does it look?

Peru is currently carrying out different activities for its 202 years of Independence. In these events, Peruvian authorities, citizens, and companies are participating, such as Google, which presented an incredible doodle to pay tribute to these dates.

In the doodle shared by the search engine for the National Holidays, a clear sky sunrise and the flaming Peruvian flag can be highlighted. By clicking on it, people will be able to access more content about the Day of Independence.

"Today's annual Doodle celebrates Peru's Independence Day, or National Holidays! On this day in 1821, Peru declared its independence from Spanish colonial rule and became a sovereign nation," said in its doodles page.

Likewise, Google shared a brief history of Peru's independence process. The company mentioned the participation of liberators José de San Martín and Simón Bolívar in defeating the Spanish forces.

"Peruvian patriots began organizing movements to challenge Spanish authority, and after years of struggle, the turning point came with the arrival of Josie de San Martín from Argentina and Simón Bolívar from Venezuela. The two formed an alliance with Peruvian forces and overcame all obstacles in Ayacucho. Their victory effectively ensured Peru's independence after centuries under Spanish rule," it stated.

What is celebrated on July 28th?

On July 28th and 29th, Peru celebrates its National Holidays. The population usually decorates their homes with the Peruvian flag, cockade, and other patriotic symbols to pay tribute to José de San Martín's declaration of independence on July 28th, 1821.
