The coach of AFC Eskilstuna from Sweden and former national team player referred to the present of the Peruvian National Team, a month and a half before the start of the qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup.

The Peruvian National Team will start the journey towards the 2026 World Cup in Mexico, United States, and Canada in September. Their first opponent in the qualifiers will be Paraguay in Asuncion, a team that will try to earn three points taking advantage of their home field. Although the performances in the recent friendly matches were mediocre (we lost against Germany and Japan, defeated South Korea, and drew against Morocco), according to Nolberto Solano, the coach Juan Reynoso has the material to start this competition on the right foot.

In an interview with Radio Ovation, the current coach of AFC Eskilstuna in Sweden stated that the coach of the Peruvian national team has a good group of players, including those who participated in the 2018 World Cup, as well as new talents who will enhance the team's performance in the South American qualifiers.

"Like every qualifier, it's tough; starting away against Paraguay, a team that hasn't participated in a World Cup for a long time and will come out with everything, but the good thing is that this team has experience. Juan will have players who have been to World Cups. We need to be patient," said the Peruvian coach.

Among the players that coach Reynoso will have and who were part of the World Cup campaign are Pedro Gallese, José Carvallo, Miguel Araujo, Anderson Santamaría, Luis Advíncula, Miguel Trauco, Nilson Loyola, Pedro Aquino, Yoshimar Yotún, Renato Tapia, Christian Cueva, André Carrillo, Andy Polo, Edison Flores, Raúl Ruidíaz, and Paolo Guerrero.

New stage as a coach

After his time with the Peruvian National Team as assistant coach to Ricardo Gareca, Nolberto Solano took on a new challenge in Swedish football, becoming the new coach of AFC Eskilstuna in the second division of that country. His appointment, which took place on July 14th, has allowed the national strategist to start a new adventure despite the challenges of being in a different country.

In this regard, he admitted that he is adapting to the climate and reality of the European country, where he hopes to achieve great things in his new stage as a coach: "In Sweden, the seasons are well marked, it's a bit hot now but summer is ending. The cold is very strong, that's why the championship ends in November, it's impossible to play in these weather conditions."
