However, upon their return to Brazil, they received disheartening news, as they could lose one of their star players, Róger Guedes, due to the interest from Saudi Arabian clubs like Al-Hilal and Al-Nassr, as announced in that country.
The concern at Corinthians is that they are not in a position to compete with the budget of the Arab league, where Cristiano Ronaldo and Peruvian André Carrillo play.
"The main fear regarding the player's departure lies in the low values he represents compared to the power of the Middle East," reads the Lance newspaper.
Furthermore, they add: "Another factor that concerns the leadership is the value of the termination clause for Róger Guedes, which is around 30 million euros (R$ 162 million). Like the salary, the amount is seen as high in Brazil but entirely affordable for the Arabs, even if it is lower than the initial payment discussed with the player's team, which is around R$ 100 million."
This comes after the 'Timao's '10' player was decisive in the victory over Universitario on Tuesday, July 18, at the Monumental Stadium.
