Jean Deza and Carlos Ascues, the latest cases of a fatal 2020 for Alianza Lima
The Fondo Blanquiazul wanted to create a 'dream team' at Alianza Lima for the 2020 campaign and for that they got the services of two players who showcased their football in Europe and arrived to be the leaders of the team with the aim of winning the national title: Jean Deza and Carlos Ascues.
Both arrived under the scrutiny of the fans for their reputation of being troublesome players, especially Deza. Despite saying that his bad behavior was a thing of the past, the first slip-up in his indiscipline started with a party held during preseason. However, that was not all since during the pandemic he was caught at a couple of parties breaking the sanitary rules imposed by the FPF. These reasons led to his dismissal from La Victoria in June of that year.
Just like the 30-year-old forward, Ascues was also involved in that party at the beginning of the year at the alliance's concentration. That, combined with his poor form and constant acts of disobedience towards the club, made the fans go from loving him to hating him. Finally, the defender was present during the fateful moment of relegation and missed a penalty while injured, which became his last image wearing the Alianza shirt.
