Claro gaming XIV JUEGAPES: The most important eFootball tournament in Peru
On June 10th and 11th, the Claro gaming XIV JUEGAPES took place, one of the most important eFootball (formerly known as PES) tournaments in Peru that brought together more than 300 people from all over the country and abroad to find out the best 5 vs 5 team.
40 teams competed in an exciting tournament
A total of 40 teams with 5 players each faced off in a group stage and later advanced to the playoffs. The top 4 teams of the tournament were Alianza Lima Esports, Universitario eSports, Univ. San Martín Esports, and Ica Empire.
The Peruvian football classic was decided in the semifinals, where Alianza Lima won. In the other semifinal, San Martín Esports beat Ica Empire to become the second finalist. The final battle was full of tension, as Alianza Lima was surprised by the level of the albos.
The Club Deportivo de la Universidad San Martín de Porres with its esports division was crowned champion in this historic final after defeating Alianza Lima Esports by 15 points to 9. In this way, they won the 3500 soles prize and the trophy.
The champions of this feat are Piero Tapia, Jisus Bonilla, Fabián Hernández, Diego Alonso, and Jair Matos along with their coaches Alvaro Contreras and Lucio Dávalos.
The Claro gaming XIV JUEGAPES was organized by the Liga Peruana de PES community and is supported by the Peruvian Esports Association. The in-person event took place at the Claro gaming Centro de Alto Rendimiento facilities.
