Although the cremas are the leaders of the tournament, the blanquiazules have two fewer games to recover the top spot, matches in which they are favorites due to the good players they have and their collective performance throughout the year.
One of them is Hernán Barcos, who in the last 30 days has been the most decisive player for the club, scoring three goals in the previous two matchdays, which have placed him as the first option to win the Apertura.
For that reason, the Professional Soccer League chose 'Pirata' as the player of the month in the League 1, becoming the third different player to achieve it this season in Peruvian football. "Hernán Barcos: leader, scorer, idol. The 'Pirata' is the player of the month," posted the league's official account on their social media platforms.
Hernán Barcos: his numbers in April
The 39-year-old Argentine forward has been used more minutes compared to March at the local level, mainly due to the victorious participation in the Copa Libertadores. He has played in all four matches of the month, but has only been on the field for the entire match twice (against Cienciano and Unión Comercio), accumulating a total of 236 minutes.
In addition, he has been important in these games. In the four matches, he has taken eight shots, of which four have been on target and he has scored three goals, averaging 60% shooting accuracy.
