After a long time, Pablo Milad, the president of the ANFP, broke the silence and referred to the acts of violence that have invaded Chilean soccer in recent times.

In a dialogue with La Tercera, the head of national soccer criticized the release of the participants in the disturbances in the Clásico Universitario.

"The news that the detainees in the university classic were released and with minimal restrictions becomes a hard blow in the fight against violence in stadiums," Milad said.

In addition, he emphasized that "we must work on changing this scenario, because today you can throw a flare, attack fans, and cause serious damage, and then these people go free and nothing happens to them. That is why we need the support of the authorities."

In that sense, one of the measures proposed is the "integration into access control systems for all those who are currently prohibited by law," focusing on "any delinquent who has cases in the judicial system and an arrest warrant," Milad said.

"A new code should be generated, since there are currently the 101 of judicial prohibitions and the 102 of the right of admission. Thus, this one can be added, which is focused on people wanted or with pending issues with the authority," he added.

"We must resume the national fan registry and have the support of the Civil Registry to have all the information and activate facial recognition, so that the search is faster and more effective by our police," continued the president of the ANFP.

Furthermore, he explained that the law must be modified so that "anyone who throws solid objects or uses fireworks" is punished as a crime and not as an offense, as it is currently.

"There is also a need to work on regulations through the Ministry of the Interior to change the preparation and qualification of private security. We must have more control options for fans inside the stadium," Milad concluded.
