Peruvian national team draws with Morocco in preparation match

The Peruvian national team drew 0-0 against Morocco in a match that serves as part of their preparation for the qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup. While the Africans dominated in the first half, the 'blanquirrojo' team found their rhythm to equalize things and the match ended up being an enjoyable encounter in the city of Madrid.

At the end of the match, the coach of the Moroccan team, Walid Regragui, spoke about the game and, although he acknowledged that the 'Blanquirroja' deserved the draw, he surprised many fans by saying he was satisfied because Juan Reynoso's team did not score against his goal.

"Peru deserved the draw. They played a good match, well positioned and focused. If you had told me before the two games against Brazil and Peru that we were going to win one and draw the other, I would have signed for it. It's good for confidence, we are strong", he said in a press conference.

"We had a day and a half to prepare for the match. I won't make excuses, but the players haven't eaten all day. Maybe we lacked a bit of energy, maybe the players felt mentally a bit weak today. But I really liked the first half, we played with a lot of rhythm. Bounou, our goalkeeper, didn't do anything today and we had many chances on goal", he added.

As seen during the 90 minutes, the African team took the lead in the first half, but this diminished thanks to the response from the 'team of all'. However, one pending debt was that they were unable to score against goalkeeper Yassine Bounou, who currently plays for Sevilla in Spain.

Finally, it is important to mention that, unlike Peru, the Moroccan national team did attack Pedro Gallese's goal, and according to statistics, they had 9 shots on goal during the international friendly.
