In statements after her coronation, Rosas stated that she was "happy to start the season like this, which is qualifying for the upcoming Challengers (Series). I won in Praia Mole and coming here and being able to win as well is incredible for me. This gives me a lot of confidence for the upcoming events and for the whole year too."
On the men's side, Alejo Muniz was the one who won the championship. The Brazilian surfer narrowly beat Alonso Correa, as he scored 18.40 points compared to the Peruvian's 17.35.
