After an incident occurred in the facilities of Alejandro Villanueva Stadium during the night, Alianza Lima issued a statement denouncing the fact, which was perpetrated by some criminals. The club from La Victoria regretted that all of this happened a few hours before the match against Universitario de Deportes.
"Alianza Lima condemns the serious attack perpetrated by criminals on the facilities of Alejandro Villanueva Stadium, which took place a few hours before a new edition of the Peruvian football classic and which we clearly identified with our security cameras," begins the statement.
"Although the attack only caused material damages, it represents an unacceptable act of the most insane violence, which we must eradicate once and for all from our country and, in particular, from our football," they add, emphasizing that this kind of vandalistic incidents should be banished from Peruvian football.
Likewise, Alianza Lima communicated that the criminals who caused the fire have already been identified by the security cameras of Alejandro Villanueva Stadium and will gather all the corresponding information for the Peruvian National Police (PNP) to fulfill their duty. They also point out that this type of situations cannot be repeated ever again, using football mistakenly as a means to generate fear through violence.
"Alianza Lima has filed a complaint with the authorities in order for the responsible individuals to be identified and punished to the fullest extent of the law. Once again, we reiterate that people of ill intent cannot use football as an excuse to attack the life or physical integrity of individuals, sow fear and terror among fans and citizens, or cause damage to the private property of sports clubs," concludes the statement from the Victoria institution.
Guillermo Salas changes his tactics for the classic
After the victory against Sport Boys (2-0), Guillermo Salas was content with the lineup he fielded. However, thinking about Universitario de Deportes, the head coach of Alianza Lima would be trying some variations to give a different 'face' to his team. Already recovered, Carlos Zambrano is expected to accompany Santiago García in the 'blanquiazul' central defense. 'Chicho' will define it in the next few hours.
