In dialogue with 'GOLPERU', Diego Guerrero, lawyer for Alianza Lima, gave his impressions about the variation of the precautionary measure filed by the Peruvian Football Federation (FPF) regarding the television rights of the League 1.

In dialogue with 'GOLPERU', Diego Guerrero, lawyer for Alianza Lima, gave his impressions about the variation of the precautionary measure filed by the Peruvian Football Federation (FPF) regarding the television rights of the League 1.

As it is remembered, on January 21st, the Peruvian Soccer Federation (FPF), in the midst of a dispute over the broadcasting rights of the Liga 1, sent a request to the Seventh Civil Court of the Superior Court of Justice of Lima to modify the precautionary measure, which prevented the matches from being broadcast through the signals of Consorcio Fútbol Perú (GOLPERU). In response, on Thursday the 26th, the Judicial Power accepted the request of the highest entity of Peruvian soccer and ordered it to be in charge of authorizing which signals can transmit the corresponding matches of the national tournament in 2023.

This change in the precautionary measure has generated a lot of dissatisfaction among the clubs opposing the FPF, who consider that this measure continues to harm them. The first one to speak out was Alianza Lima, who, through Diego Guerrero, their lawyer and legal manager, spoke with 'GOLPERU' to give his impressions on what happened.

In a conversation with 'GOLPERU', Diego Guerrero, attorney for Alianza Lima, gave his impressions on the variation of the precautionary measure filed by the Peruvian Soccer Federation (FPF) regarding the television rights of Liga 1.

The change in the precautionary measure that has recently come out is outrageous. It is also suspicious that it happens right before the Judicial Power's vacation. There have been acts, initiated by the clubs and the consortium itself, that should have been resolved by the judge before issuing a precautionary measure,” said the lawyer for the 'Íntimos'.

When asked about the proposal that would benefit Alianza Lima regarding the broadcasting rights of its matches in Liga 1, Diego Guerrero stated that the proposal from the Consorcio Fútbol was better than that of the Peruvian Soccer Federation, as it presented an uncertain business model that did not guarantee clear economic income.

Beyond any legal issue that exists, there is the commercial and economic issue and the survival of the institutions. The consortium's proposal was better, it was certain, it offered a greater amount and had the guarantee that for ten years it had been complying punctually. The business that the Federation proposes is an uncertain business, a business that does not have a guarantee,” he added.

On the other hand, he also referred to the fact that the proposal of the FPF would only cause the interruption of the economic growth that the clubs that have been working with the Consortium have had. “It is difficult to understand what the Federation's position is with this intention, since it is trying to forcibly manage the television rights. We were operating with a system that allowed clubs to survive and grow, like Alianza Lima in this case. However, this has been interrupted, they are putting the economic livelihood of the clubs at risk,” he pointed out.

Finally, about the meeting proposed by the President of the Organizing Commission of Competitions of the Peruvian Soccer Federation, Lánder Aleman, where they seek to reach an understanding on this matter, Guerrero commented: “We have been called to a meeting, but they have not explained the purpose. The eight clubs maintain a position and we are willing to talk, but until they tell us the purpose, we will not go”.
