The Sporting Cristal season started with bad news. On the day of their presentation, during the 'Tarde Celeste', goalkeeper Alejandro Duarte suffered a fractured collarbone, which will keep him out of the field for at least two months, a situation that further complicated the team with the absence of Renato Solís, the second goalkeeper of the celestial team. However, his return would be imminent, as he is already working with the goalkeeper coach.
According to Depor, Renato Solís started working with the ball on Monday, January 23, alongside the goalkeeper coach, Augusto Rossel. However, he is still not training with the full team, and he is expected to do so in two or three weeks.
In mid 2022, Solís suffered fractures in his fourth and fifth fingers of his right hand, which have kept him out of the game since the match against Alianza Atlético on June 25. The goalkeeper was in competition with Duarte, but since that injury, Alejandro has become the undisputed starting goalkeeper.
It should be noted that Sporting Cristal will make its debut in the Copa Libertadores on February 22, away from home. Their opponent will be known on February 15, the day the second leg of the first stage is played. It will be between Nacional from Paraguay and Sport Huancayo.
