Víctor Reyes officially resigns as technical director of the Peruvian U17 national team

After Víctor Reyes officially resigned as the technical director of the Peruvian U17 national team, the Peruvian Football Federation (FPF) has some alternatives, among which stands out a coach trained in Spanish football.

The Head of the Technical Unit for Minors of the FPF, headed by 'Chemo' del Solar, has reportedly proposed national coach Pablo Zegarra to take charge of the U17 category that is preparing for the upcoming South American championship in March.

Soon after leaving the U17 team, Víctor Reyes, at Videna, had some names in mind, reaching out to Pablo Zegarra with whom they would have already had advanced conversations.

If the agreement is reached, Pablo Zegarra will take over the Peruvian U17 national team for the South American championship to be played in Ecuador and therefore the World Cup for the category in November, where Peru is the host.

Pablo Zegarra: coach

After ending his professional football career in 2005 (last club CD Guijuelo), Pablo Zegarra continued his career as a football coach in the youth teams of UD Salamanca until being an assistant coach of the first team in 2012. He then joined Sporting Cristal in 2014 to work in the youth teams until becoming the head coach in 2017.

  • UD Salamanca - 2006/2016
  • Sporting Cristal - 2014/2017
  • Pirata FC - 2019
  • Atlético Grau - 2020
