Peruvian Football Federation responds to clubs threatening not to play in the Liga 1.

Alianza Lima, Universitario and six other important Peruvian football clubs warned the Peruvian Football Federation that they will not play in the Liga 1, if the governing body of football in the country does not withdraw the precautionary measure that suspends the television broadcast of their matches. In response to this situation, the FPF issued a statement reiterating its position.

Just hours after the clubs' statement, the FPF shared its statement in which it reaffirms its ownership of the broadcasting rights of all the competitions it organizes, including the Liga 1. It also emphasizes that this model is endorsed by CONMEBOL and even FIFA.

It also argued that they will respect the agreements of Universitario, Sport Boys, Municipal and Mannucci, which extend until 2025. According to the FPF statement, 'independent and hidden negotiations by club representatives with any operator' 'delayed the development of football in Peru as seen in international results'.

The governing body of Peruvian football also informed that they invited the Consorcio Futbol Peru to participate in the process of centralizing TV rights, but they did not present any offer.

FPF AND ITS MESSAGE TO THE FOOTBALL ASSOCIATION

But the statement not only aims to reiterate the position of the Peruvian Football Federation as the holder of the broadcasting rights of the Liga 1, but also to send a message to the Football Association (Safap).

The FPF reminded that Safap promoted the reforms of Peruvian football, which included the centralization of TV rights, and also specified that they have made 'millionaire investments' in Safap, for the benefit of the players who could not collect the debts that the clubs owed them.

THE THREAT OF ALIANZA, LA 'U' AND SIX CLUBS

The night before the statement, Universitario, Alianza Lima, Sport Boys, Deportivo Municipal, Cienciano, Melgar, Cusco FC and Binacional issued a statement demanding that the Peruvian Football Federation withdraw the precautionary measure they presented to the Peruvian Justice, otherwise they will not participate in the Liga 1.
