Yoshimar Yotún culminated one more season of Liga 1 Betsson with Sporting Cristal. And, although the goal of becoming champions was not fully achieved, the rimenses, with 'Yoshi' as captain, managed to qualify for the Copa Libertadores 2024. In that sense, the midfielder was asked about his future in Liga 1 Betsson.

The name of Yotún has been linked on several occasions with Alianza Lima and Universitario, two big clubs in the country and direct rivals of Cristal. The hierarchy of the midfielder, with a past abroad and a figure of the Peruvian national team, makes everyone want him.
However, despite the rumors, Yoshimar stated that his future will continue to be in Rímac. "I have a contract with Cristal and obviously there are many rumors," he declared upon leaving Videna, after another day of work under the orders of Juan Reynoso, coach of the Peruvian national team.
Minutes later, Yotún was asked if he had received the call from the big clubs in the country. And his answer was as emphatic as peculiar: "Yes, from Cristal, it's a big club," he said, making his position clear.

What position did Sporting Cristal finish in the Clausura Tournament?
Despite the fact that the celestes defeated Alianza Atlético de Sullana in the last match, they did not manage to equal or surpass Universitario de Deportes and finished in fourth place in the Clausura standings.
Nevertheless, the celestes managed to qualify for the Copa Libertadores 2024 as Peru 3. Next year, they will seek the local title that they haven't won since 2020.
