Sporting Cristal presented Adrián Ascues this Thursday at a press conference. The midfielder, who was part of the youth divisions of the celeste team a few years ago, expressed his excitement for returning to wear the shirt of the rimense team.
"Happy to be back, I grew up here as a person and player since I was little, it's very nice to be able to return and remember the moments I lived in the club," said the footballer who played for Deportivo Municipal this season.
The 20-year-old player also said that he aims to win the Liga 1 2023 title. "The goal, like everyone when they come to Cristal, is to become champion, but the first thing is to take it step by step, prepare myself in the best way and, as I said, always contribute to the group," he mentioned.
Furthermore, Adrián Ascues stated that he joins a group that has won the national title in previous years. "I come here to bring commitment, professionalism, and I see it as an opportunity to grow," he expressed.
On the other hand, the midfielder expressed his happiness to share a team with Jostin Alarcón, who is also a recent signing for the celeste team. "I had the opportunity to play with him, he is a partner on the field, he is like a brother to me, and now an opportunity arises for us in the club. We will take it with great responsibility, we want to bring joy to the fans," he mentioned.
It is important to mention that Adrián Ascues played 33 matches in the 2022 season and scored 10 goals. Additionally, he contributed to the collective game, registering 2 assists.
