In that sense, the captain of the Peruvian national team was clear in stating that his intention is to stay in Major League Soccer and everything is on track towards that goal.
"My issue with Orlando City is quite advanced, but we have not closed yet. We are still analyzing some topics; anyway, the safest thing is that I will stay there. I want to be relaxed, I want to enjoy the holidays and for sure in these days my future will be defined," he said at a public event in front of the media.

On the other hand, the 'Octopus' was encouraged to talk about Alianza Lima's bicampeonato (back-to-back championship) and did not rule out returning to the victorious institution in the near future. As is known, the experienced goalkeeper wore the blanquiazul (Alianza Lima's team colors) in 2019 and was just one step away from winning the national title.
