Alianza Lima wins the League 1 bicampeonato
Alianza Lima has achieved the bicampeonato of the Liga 1, after defeating Melgar de Arequipa in the final at Alejandro Villanueva Stadium. In light of this feat, Sports Manager José Bellina has declared to announce that far from taking a rest, the club is already thinking ahead to the future.
PUEDES VER: 'Pepe' Soto trusted in the bicampeonato: "It was impossible for Melgar to score a goal against Alianza"
In this context, he decided to say a few words of appreciation to Carlos Bustos. "Carlos arrived in a very complicated moment, in a moment of great uncertainty (before knowing the TAS ruling that kept the club in the First Division), this title is also for him", mentioned Bellina.
Bustos, who was already known in Peruvian lands, as he had past experiences in San Martin and Melgar, left a positive mark in Alianza Lima, as he won the Peruvian championship in 2021, something that was unsuspected at the beginning of the season due to the quick assembly of the team with mostly domestic players.
'Chicho' Salas stays as coach?
Despite the title, there is still no confirmation regarding the continuity of the coach in the blanquiazul bench. When asked about it, Bellina responded that "it is the club's intention, but we have not yet sat down to discuss the contractual part".
Salas set a record with Alianza, as since the 70s the 'grones' had not won a local championship with a Peruvian coach. The last one had been the memorable Marcos Calderón in 1975.
