The Argentine defender, Omar Merlo, will not continue at Sporting Cristal for the next season.
After five years in La Florida defending the 'celeste' shield, Omar Merlo says goodbye to Sporting Cristal. The 'rimense' club posted on social media a message informing the player's disengagement from the club and another one in which they thank him for the years he played and won titles with the team, along with an emotional video.
"Thank you Omi! For your professionalism, your dedication, and for always giving everything for the 'celeste'. They were 5 beautiful years. Thank you a thousand times, Champion", Sporting Cristal posted on social media.
The Argentine defender arrived at Sporting Cristal in 2018 from Huachipato in Chile. In five seasons in La Florida, Merlo won two national titles and the Bicentennial Cup with the 'rimenses'.
