Peru's 2-1 victory over Colombia in the Copa America 2021 brought joy to many fans of the Peruvian national team on Sunday, June 20. The heavy defeat suffered against Brazil in the previous match did not generate high expectations among the fans, but there was one person who believed in the team from the beginning.
After the final whistle that confirmed the first victory of the Blanquirroja in the continental tournament against the Colombian team, a loyal supporter of the 'team of all' posted on his social media what he gained from betting on the Peruvian triumph.
Jorge Luna, a comedian, bet 1,000 soles on a betting house for Peru's victory against Reinaldo Rueda's team, during the third match of the Copa America 2021.
He posted pictures of his celebration on his Instagram account, where you can see the moment when the referee blew the final whistle in the match between Peru and Colombia.
"Finish it! Well, we won!", said comedian Jorge Luna in the story he shared on his personal profile, along with the text "Happy Father's Day to everyone and to me".
With Peru's victory, this loyal fan of the Peruvian national team quintupled the money he paid for the ticket. In the end, he took home more than 5,000 soles.
The next match for the Peruvian national team will be against Ecuador on Wednesday, June 23.
